Harmless Vid -Full Biography

Chepong Don-ore Paulinus popularly known as Harmless Vid is a Ghanaian award winning rapper and songwriter based in Jirapa, the Upper West Region of Ghana. He was born on the 26th November, 1995 and he also got crowned as the Best Rapper Of The Year 2021 in the Upper West Music Awards. Let’s dive in to know more about Harmless vid.

The young rapper got his first nomination in the just ended awards scheme by Upper West Music Awards (UMA 2021). Harmless was crowned the overall Best Rapper of the year and this has sparked a lot of controversy as to whether he actually deserved it.

Opinions rising from people, both on radio and on social media has a lot of people saying, especially those who has followed the rapper for quite a long time believes strongly that he deserves it, while other have different opinion.

Well, his win has brought about so much attention, perhaps many has voiced out as they never knew him all this time. He has been termed as unknown rapper after he won. A school of thoughts believes that, the rapper has what it takes put to the region on the map through his music looking at his uniqueness and top talent found in him. They believe he’s very unique and distinct.

In a radio interviews at Radio Wa hosted by DJ Anoda on “Wagyaa Y3la” program and Sungmaale Radio hosted by Ataala Gh on “Youth Touch” program respectively, some of the best entertainment programs in the upper west region. The best rapper calls On Upper West Musiciens to come together as one, and put the Region on the Map with their music.

As he believes the region is blessed with so much talented musiciens with the likes of Nassbery, Best Gally, Sambwoy, Rekordz, O.J, Dagara El Twist, Wiz Maleek etc.

Early Life:

He was born on 26^th December, 1995 at Kulmasa, Harmless Vid was hailed from Tuna all in the Savannah Region but homed to Jirapa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He is the last of two children born to Mr. Chepong Tansore John, a teacher from Jirapa and Madam Mavis Gyiele, a retired teacher from Nandom, all from Upper West. He his much of his life spend in Tuna

Educational Career:

Paulinus attended St. John’s R/C Primary school in Tuna and completed his basic education at St. John’s Junior High School. He moved to St. Cyprian Minor Seminary Senior High School at Sawla in the Savannah Region and proceeded to McCoy College of Education, Nadowli where he graduated as a trained Teacher. He currently works as a teacher at Yibile M/A Primary school.

Music Career:

Harmless Vid started music officially in 2016 at the training college, Harmless was signed under a Tamale-based record label called Swaggapop’s Platinum Music after he was graduated from the collage in 2018. Under Swaggapop’s, he released several songs, three videos and collaborations with Etornam GH, Rao, Linking and many others. Harmless has released other songs after parting ways.

Now, the rapper stands on his own as he tagged his fan base as Vid Nation which has been his sole priority to his growth. Vid Nation has been the biggest support to his win as the best rapper the Upper West Region

Harmless was a contestant in the Sagani TV reality show calls “CHOP THE MIC”. It’s a top notch talent program on Sagani TV based in the North specifically Tamale. A competition which started with thousands of musicians but as the show progress a lot more people were evicted but Harmless made it to the finest eight (8) but unfortunately was evicted due to low votes count.

After getting crowned by the recent awards scheme, Harmless Vid has released a new single titled We Made It in appreciation to the general public for supporting him to win enviable award.
